As one of 35 Constituent Bodies, Gloucestershire RFU is organised into five Combinations [Bristol & District, North Gloucestershire, Cheltenham & District, Stroud & District and Forest of Dean], and administers the game of rugby within Gloucestershire in accordance with the World Rugby Regulations and Laws of the Union.
GRFU aims to retain and further develop a strong and vibrant rugby community within Gloucestershire founded upon the RFU core purpose for the game. By leading the game and through effective and efficient management, GRFU will support clubs to deliver activity that meets their needs and those of their members and the wider game, developing working partnerships with the Union, full time RFU professional staff and our clubs.
The five core values, identified and adopted by the game and embody the way in which the game is played, are administered and supported at all levels, up to and including the national teams and RFU staff. As a CB, GRFU acknowledge the importance of promoting the Core Values to our clubs, schools, colleges.
