Volunteer Recognition
GRFU Volunteer Recognition Programme

Volunteers recognised so far:
James Saunders - Old Colstonians
Stacey Meecham - Spartans RFC
Amanda Haffman-Smith - Longlevens RFC
These two ladies have done fantastic work taking over where Safeguarding was evidently lacking from their predecessors. Amanda especially. I believe at one stage when she first took over she had to do @40 DBS checks in one go as her predecessor hadn't undertaken them.
James Farnfield -Clifton RFC
Over the past two years James has transformed the clubs ethos around Safeguarding. He attends every single training course offered and constantly keeps in touch. One club has never undertaken so many Play it Safe courses as Clifton. All arranged by Janes.
Kelvin Hughes - Old Richians RFC
Outstanding Safeguarding officer and totally committed to the safety of you young players at the club. Attends all courses offered and is in constant contact.
Rewrote the clubs Safeguarding policy and has updated social media policy etc.
Jemma Takel - Southmead RFC
unfortunately Southmead has always historically suffered from 'bad press' they would never moan and just get on with it. Jemma has worked tirelessly as CSO at this club to change their perception of Safeguarding. Thanks to Jemma the clubs no longer sitting on complaints/concerns that could've been made but are now speaking up. She is also the clubs fixture secretary. I don't know how she does it!
