Volunteer Recognition

GRFU Volunteer Recognition Programme

Our new programme was released on the 7th Febuary 2019. We have orderd 100 coffee mugs to give to the hardworking volunteers withion our clubs.
All we ask is for is the nominating person to email  volunteers@gloucestershirerfu.co.uk with details of the work that the nominee is doing within the club setting. Including their photo would be great as we plan to use the information provided for exposure on GRFU platforms. Lookout for  #GRFUvolunteer on our social media.

Volunteers recognised so far:

James Saunders - Old Colstonians

I would like to nominate James Saunders for a travel mug, the volunteer water technician for Old Colstonians RFC.
James keeps the boys hydrated at home, away games and training. His dedication to the club is immense and I feel he has earned the right to have a nice warm coffee on the sideline in one of your lovely travel mugs.
Bry Finch - GRFU
Can I please nominate Bry - he’s joined the GRFU Marketing & Sponsorship Committee and has already helped out with branding, marketing flyers and artwork for various GRFU projects.
He’s delivered on time and always picks up his phone to answer a question or assist with last minute requests from County Office!
Pete Gudge - Dings Crusaders
Can I nominate Pete Gudge, Dings Crusaders u13 Coach.
He’s developed a new team this season to 30. His communication with parents is second to none- updating Facebook, what’s app, Pitchero and emailing a weekly newsletter. He’s filled our calendar as fixture secretary and generally keeps the team together!

Stacey Meecham - Spartans RFC

Amanda Haffman-Smith - Longlevens RFC

These two ladies have done fantastic work taking over where Safeguarding was evidently lacking from their predecessors. Amanda especially. I believe at one stage when she first took over she had to do @40 DBS checks in one go as her predecessor hadn't undertaken them.

James Farnfield -Clifton RFC

Over the past two years James has transformed the clubs ethos around Safeguarding. He attends every single training course offered and constantly keeps in touch. One club has never undertaken so many Play it Safe courses as Clifton. All arranged by Janes.

Kelvin Hughes - Old Richians RFC

Outstanding Safeguarding officer and totally committed to the safety of you young players at the club. Attends all courses offered and is in constant contact.

Rewrote the clubs Safeguarding policy and has updated social media policy etc.

Jemma Takel - Southmead RFC

unfortunately Southmead has always historically suffered from 'bad press' they would never moan and just get on with it. Jemma has worked tirelessly as CSO at this club to change their perception of Safeguarding. Thanks to Jemma the clubs no longer sitting on complaints/concerns that could've been made but are now speaking up. She is also the clubs fixture secretary. I don't know how she does it!
