Senior Women Round Up 2019

The Ladies had a stronger squad this season reflecting the increased emphasis GRFU are placing on Women and Girls rugby. With more debuts and new caps and with more clubs engaged the women’s game continues to grow across the County. This season 60 players attended early training and 35 players were used over the 2 cup games. A total of 14 clubs contributed players and 6 new caps were awarded.

After a comprehensive victory over Devon the Ladies travelled to Reading to face the traditionally strong Berkshire side. Although performing well the Ladies fell short on this occasion and Berkshire went on to contest their divisional final losing to Sussex.

Head coach Royston Davies has assembled both a new coaching team of Sian Moore and Bee Mocellin together with a strong squad who play some tremendous rugby and they are an exciting team to watch. Under the management of Carolyn Seabrook who liaises with players and clubs alike it is expected that GRFU Ladies rugby will continue to flourish.
