GRFU Statement Ending The Season
Please see the RFU Statement Ending the Season, which brings the 2019/20 season to an end.
Clubs that have any festivals organised after 14 April 20 (the previous suspension date) should cancel them immediately and consider how to reimburse or credit any entrance fees already paid by clubs.
Similarly, GRFU will be in touch with those clubs who entered into our Age Grade Rugby festivals that have been cancelled about reimbursement or credit of entrance fees that have been paid. Please be patient at this unprecedented time.
Clubs that have tours organised should look carefully as to what triggers any insurance claims for cancellation, and certainly cancel any aspect of their tour that does not incur a financial penalty.
The immediate concern is the financial viability of our GRFU clubs given their income sources have completely evaporated. You will see from the RFU statement that it is, as a matter of urgency, examining how clubs can access government and local authority financial relief. Similarly, GRFU is examining how we might be able to help clubs in financial hardship.
